What to Expect

We would love to have your child join us! We find it is helpful for new participants to know what to expect.

The general format of a regular Book Buddies session is as follows:

• Arrival: Children make their way to The Haven and enjoy a snack.

• Each child selects a book (or several), and pairs with a Book Buddy (volunteer) to read and record their progress in their individual folder.

• Twenty minutes before concluding, participants help clean up and transition to play games.

• Dismissal: Participants depart for home.

Volunteers may accompany students to / from The Haven. Please review the details regarding transportation and liability in the permission form.

To sign your child up for Book Buddies, please complete all parts of the permission form.

A separate form is needed for each child participating.
